Ekiti SUBEB Extends Teachers’ Recruitment Exam Schedule

The Ekiti State Universal Basic Education Board (SUBEB) has extended the duration of its upcoming computer-based qualifying examination for teachers’ recruitment from two days to three. Originally scheduled for August 14 and 15, 2026, the examination will now take place from Thursday, August 13, through Saturday, August 15, 2026, at Ekiti State University, Ado-Ekiti.

In a statement issued in Ado-Ekiti, SUBEB Permanent Secretary Michael Omolayo explained that the extra day was added to accommodate the high volume of qualified candidates who successfully completed the application process.

The recruitment drive, approved by Governor Biodun Oyebanji, aims to fill consequential vacancies in public primary schools created by recent teacher retirements, helping to enhance staffing levels and overall learning outcomes across the state. SUBEB Chairman Prof. Femi Akinwumi reiterated that the exercise is designed to address critical personnel needs and support quality basic education.

SUBEB advised applicants to check their registered email addresses for their specific examination schedules. Candidates are required to bring printed copies of their application forms to the testing center for verification. The board emphasized that mobile phones and other electronic devices are strictly prohibited within the venue, warning that only invited candidates will be granted entry and loitering around the examination premises will not be permitted.
