Ex-Employee Remanded Over Alleged Theft of Company Vehicle in Lagos

A former employee of Zenith Carex International Limited, Samson Adetunji, has been remanded in custody following his arraignment before a magistrate court in Yaba, Lagos, over alleged theft of a company vehicle.
According to sources, the situation began when the Chief Executive Officer of the company accused Adetunji of damaging a Renault Logan sedan with registration number RSH 05 XF and demanded N5 million for repairs. Adetunji was later invited to a police station under the pretext of resolving the dispute, but upon arrival, he was reportedly taken before the court and charged with theft.
The charge sheet, with number NO/2026, obtained by SaharaReporters, stated in count one that Adetunji unlawfully seized and tampered with the vehicle in September 2025 at Awolowo Road, Ikoyi, Lagos, an offence punishable under Section 340 of the Criminal Law of Lagos State, 2015.
Count two alleged that he unlawfully and intentionally converted the vehicle, valued at N10 million, to his personal use, an offence contrary to Section 280 and punishable under Section 287 of the same law.
A source told SaharaReporters that Adetunji has been held at the Ikoyi Correctional Centre since Wednesday, March 18, 2026.
When contacted for comments, the CEO, Olamilekan, requested that an inquiry be sent to the company’s email. An inquiry was sent, but neither the CEO nor the company had responded as of the time of filing this report.
