Fatal Crash in Epe: One Killed, Three Injured as Truck Rams into Tricycle
A tragic road accident occurred on Sunday at Aiyetoro Junction along the Traffic Light corridor in Epe, Lagos State, resulting in the death of one person and critical injuries to three others.

The incident involved a truck laden with yams which lost control and collided with a stationary commercial tricycle.
According to a statement from the Lagos State Traffic Management Authority (LASTMA), the truck with registration number AGL 764 XB was traveling from Ijebu-Ode and attempting a U-turn inward Eleko at the junction when the driver lost control and rammed into the tricycle marked SMK 127 QR.
“The devastating impact claimed one life and left three other occupants with severe injuries,” the statement read.
LASTMA officials on routine patrol quickly responded to the scene. They were joined by personnel from the Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC), the Nigeria Police Force, the Lagos State Fire and Rescue Service, and the military, who worked together to rescue the three injured victims trapped in the wreckage.
The FRSC transported the deceased and the injured to General Hospital, Epe, for medical attention and necessary procedures. Security operatives maintained order during the rescue operation and helped restore normal traffic flow in the area.
Mr. Olalekan Bakare-Oki, LASTMA’s General Manager, extended his condolences to the family of the deceased and prayed for the quick recovery of the injured. He urged security agencies to conduct a thorough investigation into the incident and ensure that anyone found responsible is made to face the full weight of the law.
