Federal Fire Service Introduces Medical Scheme, Ups Staff Loan to ₦500,000

The Federal Fire Service has introduced a new Medical Intervention Scheme and increased its interest-free staff loan facility from ₦300,000 to ₦500,000 as part of sweeping welfare reforms.

Controller-General Olumode Adeyemi announced these measures during the inauguration of a Quarter Guard at the service’s national headquarters in Abuja. He noted that prioritizing workforce well-being has been central to his administration, revealing that he previously declined a grand reception organized in his honor, opting instead to redirect those funds toward purchasing mattresses and basic support items for firefighters across the country.

Adeyemi explained that the medical scheme is designed to heavily subsidize healthcare expenses for personnel and alleviate their financial burdens. According to the leadership, these initiatives have significantly boosted staff morale, culminating in officers voluntarily funding and constructing the newly unveiled Quarter Guard as a testament to their confidence in the service’s current direction.
