FIFA Unveils Trophy for Inaugural Women’s Champions Cup

FIFA revealed the trophy for its first global women’s club competition, the FIFA Women’s Champions Cup, during an event in London on Monday.
The unveiling took place near Brentford Stadium, which will host the tournament’s semi-finals on Wednesday, January 28. The ceremony involved pupils from a local school and featured former England international Alex Scott and FIFA Chief Football Officer Jill Ellis, a two-time Women’s World Cup-winning coach.
Jill Ellis emphasized the importance of inspiring young fans, stating it was a reminder of football’s power to connect and motivate future generations. Alex Scott, an ambassador for the tournament, highlighted the significance of the event, which brings together continental champions from across the world.
The attending schoolchildren received merchandise, took part in a Q&A session, and viewed the trophy. They are also scheduled to attend one of this week’s semi-final matches.
The semi-finals at Brentford Stadium will see Concacaf champions Gotham FC (USA) face CONMEBOL winners SC Corinthians (Brazil), followed by UEFA title holders Arsenal Women FC against CAF champions ASFAR (Morocco).
The tournament concludes on Sunday, February 1, at Arsenal Stadium with a third-place play-off and the final, where the first-ever world club champion in women’s football will be crowned.
FIFA stated that the Women’s Champions Cup aims to elevate the global profile of the women’s game and support its continued growth.
