Five Arrested Following Brutal Attack and Attempted Kidnapping in Kaduna
Five suspects are in custody after a coordinated security operation responded to a violent attempted kidnapping in Goska village, Kaduna State. The incident left a teenage girl, 16-year-old Endurance Sabo, with severe injuries, including the amputation of her hand.
The attack occurred on Saturday in the Kaninkon Ward of Jema’a Local Government Area. According to reports, the assailants targeted Sabo, her grandmother, and four younger sisters. While the grandmother and other children escaped, Sabo was captured and sustained life-altering injuries before being rescued by security personnel.
The Chairman of Jema’a Local Government, Mr. Peter Tanko Dogara, confirmed the arrests in a statement released through his media adviser. He stated that a distress call from the community triggered a swift joint operation, leading to Sabo’s rescue and the apprehension of the five suspects.
Authorities expressed regret over the severity of the victim’s injuries. Sabo is currently receiving treatment at Sir Patrick Ibrahim Yakowa Memorial Hospital in Kafanchan. The council chairman has pledged to cover her medical expenses and has initiated steps to transfer her to a tertiary health facility for more specialized care.
The violent event has caused significant concern among residents in Goska and surrounding areas, with many calling for stronger actions against criminal activities in the region.
In response, Chairman Dogara appealed for public calm, assuring citizens that security measures have been intensified across the local government to maintain order.
He encouraged residents to continue with their normal activities and to report any security concerns to the authorities, while cautioning strongly against any form of vigilante justice or taking the law into private hands.
