Four Children Killed in Stabbing Attack at Kampala Kindergarten

Four children were stabbed to death on Thursday at a nursery school in Uganda’s capital, Kampala, according to police.
The suspect, a male, gained entry to the Ggaba Early Childhood Development Program school in the Makindye Division by pretending to be a parent, police spokeswoman Racheal Kawala said. Local media reported that the victims were between two and three years old.
As the suspect attempted to flee the scene, angry residents tried to lynch him before security forces intervened and took him into custody, Kawala added.
“We confirm a tragic incident … where a male suspect brutally stabbed and killed four juveniles,” she said.
The motive for the attack remains unclear, and police have launched an investigation.
Social media videos showed distraught parents gathered outside the cordoned-off school, anxiously seeking information about their children and demanding their release.
Such violent attacks are rare in Uganda.
