FRSC Blames Speeding As 6 Die In Kabba-Odo-Ape Road Accident
Six people have been killed and two others injured in a road crash along the Kabba–Odo-Ape Road in Kabba-Bunu Local Government Area of Kogi State. The crash occurred on Saturday and involved a truck and a commercial vehicle, with residents of Odo-Ape reportedly joining efforts to rescue survivors.
Confirming the incident on Sunday, the Kogi State Sector Commander of the Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC), Lawal Fagge, said six persons died on the spot while two others were rescued with injuries.
Fagge attributed the crash to speeding, warning motorists against dangerous driving, unnecessary overtaking and fatigue.
Residents of Odo-Ape were said to have joined rescue efforts at the scene.
The bodies of the deceased have been deposited at the morgue of the General Hospital, Kabba, while the injured victims are receiving treatment.
The FRSC urged motorists to obey traffic rules to prevent further loss of lives.
