Fuji maestro KWAM 1’s daughter secures key transport union endorsement for Surulere Constituency II

The Chairman of the Lagos State chapter of the National Union of Road Transport Workers (NURTW), Mustapha Adekunle, popularly known as Sego, has endorsed Damilola Ayinde Marshal for a seat in the Lagos State House of Assembly.
Damilola, a lawyer and daughter of renowned Fuji musician Wasiu Ayinde Marshall (KWAM 1), is seeking to represent Surulere Constituency II under the banner of the All Progressives Congress (APC).
In a short video shared on her Snapchat handle on Wednesday, the aspirant was seen presenting branded caps to the NURTW chairman during a meeting believed to be part of her political consultations ahead of the party’s primaries.
Speaking in the clip, Sego called on party members and supporters to rally behind her ambition.
“When it is primary election, please come out en masse and vote for Dami, Omo Anifowose. She is the only one who can do it. The progress of our Surulere is our collective responsibility. It is our time,” the NURTW chairman said.
The endorsement adds to the growing support for Damilola, who recently announced her intention to contest the seat. She currently serves as Senior Special Assistant to Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu on Tourism.
Announcing her ambition on social media, Damilola said her professional background had prepared her for public service and representation.
“I am a woman of excellence and results. I am ready to serve and lead. With my background, I am fully prepared and ready to fight for what truly matters. I promise to be the voice of the youths in the House,” she stated.
She described herself as part of a new generation of leaders committed to development and youth inclusion.
Damilola is expected to seek to succeed the incumbent lawmaker representing the constituency, Mosunmola Rotimi Sangodara, who currently occupies the seat under the APC.
