Fulani Herdsmen Attack Teen Girl Over Marriage Rejection in Kaduna

A 15-year-old girl, Endurance Sabon, was brutally attacked and had her hand cut off by suspected Fulani herdsmen in Goska community, Kaduna State, after her family rejected a forced marriage proposal. The incident occurred on Friday while Endurance, her mother, and other relatives were farming. The attackers, who had been trailing them, ambushed and dragged Endurance into the forest, where she was severely injured.

The family has appealed for help, citing the severity of Endurance’s injuries, which led to her referral to Jos University Teaching Hospital for further treatment. Five suspects have been arrested, and the family is calling on the Kaduna State Government to intervene and ensure justice is served.

This incident has heightened fears among residents, who say insecurity and attacks linked to forced marriages and banditry are a serious threat in the area. A relative from Tudun Wada is still missing after being attacked by suspected Fulani herdsmen earlier this year.

The attack has sparked outrage and condemnation from rights advocates and community leaders, who are urging authorities to take decisive action to restore safety and ensure justice is served.
