FUTES Holds Inaugural Prayer Session as Academic Activities Commence

IYIN-EKITI – The Federal University of Technology and Environmental Sciences (FUTES) formally launched its academic journey on [Date], with an inaugural prayer session attended by principal officers and newly recruited staff.

Vice-Chancellor Professor Gbenga Aribisala presided over the event, charging the pioneer staff to treat students with dignity and compassion while laying a solid foundation for the nascent institution. He emphasized that the university’s successful take-off was a result of sacrifice and urged staff to go the extra mile.

“What we are seeing today is the sacrifice of people, and as pioneer staff, you must be ready to do more,” Professor Aribisala stated.

While assuring staff of management’s commitment to their welfare, including prompt payment of salaries, the Vice-Chancellor also issued a firm warning against misconduct. He stressed that any actions bringing the institution into disrepute would be met with sanctions.

In a sermon, Pastor Abiola Akinleye, the South-West Coordinator of the Mountain of Fire and Miracles Ministry (MFM), urged the university community to place God at the centre of its vision to accelerate growth. Prayers were offered for academic excellence, unity, and national leaders.

Notable officials in attendance included the University Librarian, Professor Isaac Busayo; the Bursar, Mrs. Rachael Ajayi; the Registrar, Mr. Oluwole Dada; and the Dean of the Faculty of Sciences, Professor Temitope Akintayo.

Professor Akintayo remarked on the rapid progress, noting that the university achieved this milestone less than a year after its official announcement. The Registrar, Mr. Dada, advised staff and students to be meticulous with official documentation to avoid errors.
