German Embassy Warns Nigerians Against Using Visa Agents

The German Embassy in Nigeria has advised Nigerians seeking visa information to rely only on official channels, warning that misinformation from self-styled visa agents could lead to confusion, unnecessary expenses, and possible fraud.

In a statement issued on Wednesday, the embassy urged prospective applicants to verify all visa-related information directly with the mission rather than depending on third-party sources.

The embassy noted that many claims circulated by visa agents are often inaccurate and encouraged Nigerians to seek clarification from its official platforms whenever they have questions about visa requirements or application procedures.

It also invited members of the public to share information they had received from visa agents, stating that it would address some of the common misconceptions in future updates.

Reiterating its position, the embassy stressed that it has no affiliation or partnership with any visa agent and does not authorize third parties to provide visa services on its behalf.

According to the mission, all necessary information regarding visa applications is available free of charge through its official communication channels.

The warning comes amid concerns over the spread of misleading information surrounding visa application processes, with the embassy urging applicants to remain vigilant and avoid falling victim to scams.
