Governor Sanwo-Olu Commends Nigerian-Owned College on UK Expansion

Lagos State Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu has praised Westerfield College for its expansion into the United Kingdom, highlighting its role in creating international education opportunities for Nigerian students.
The governor’s comments followed a courtesy visit to the State House by the college’s CEO, Michael Dosunmu, and his team, marking the institution’s one-year anniversary as a wholly Nigerian-owned school operating in the UK.
In a statement, Sanwo-Olu commended the educational achievements of Nigerian youths globally and noted that the college’s presence in the UK helps present Nigeria and Lagos positively to the world.
Westerfield College became the first fully African-owned school to establish a UK campus in 2025. The college is currently participating in the International Education Fair and will host the School Leaders and Teachers Conference in 2026.
CEO Michael Dosunmu outlined the institution’s mission, stating that its upcoming Summer Camp Programme is designed to help Nigerian students build confidence, global awareness, and leadership skills, while introducing families to the British education system.
He reaffirmed the college’s commitment to strengthening educational ties between Nigeria and the UK.
