Gunmen Kidnap Imo Monarch
A prominent traditional ruler in Imo State, Eze Jewel Ndenkwo, has been kidnapped.
The monarch was kidnapped on Friday around 7 pm in front of one of his companies in Owerri, the Imo state capital.
He was identified as the traditional ruler of Isiala Umudi community in the Nkwerre Local Government Area of the state.
A witness said the monarch was abducted in front of his office at Tetlow in Owerri.
The state police command is yet to react to the incident.
There has been an increase in the spate of attacks on monarchs in the south-eastern region by kidnappers and bandits over the past few months.
