Hammed Mufutau Arraigned For Stealing Phones From Worship Centre
Hammed Mufutau, 29, was on Monday docked in an Iyaganku Magistrates Court in Ibadan for allegedly stealing two cellphones from a house of worship.
It was not disclosed if the worship centre was a church, mosque of a shrine.
The police charged Hammed, whose address was not given, with breaking, entering and theft.
The defendant, however, pleaded not guilty to the charge.
The Prosecution Counsel, ASP Ibrahim Sikiru, told the court that Hammed on Sept. 6, at about 8p.m entered into a worship house and allegedly stole two cellphones
Ibrahim said the defendant allegedly entered No.14, Boluwaduro Estate , Ido, Ibadan, and stole an Itel cell phone valued N5, 500 and Techno cell phone worth N40,000.
He said the offence contravened the provisions of sections 390(9) and 412 of the Criminal Code Laws of Oyo State 2000.
The Magistrate, Mrs S. A . Adesina, granted the defendant bail in the sum of N50, 000 with one surety in like sum.
