INEC Drops NDC Candidate, Gwarzo From Kano Governorship List

The Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC, has excluded governorship candidate of New Nigeria Democratic Congress, NDC, Aminu Abdussalam Gwarzo, from its final list of candidates for 2027 governorship election in Kano State.
Gwarzo’s name was missing from final list released by commission, which features 17 candidates from different political parties contesting election.
Among parties on final list are All Progressives Congress, APC; Peoples Democratic Party, PDP; and African Democratic Congress, ADC.
According to list, candidates cleared are Gashash Mukhtar of Party A; Haruna Abdullahi of Action Alliance, AA; Sharif Abba of African Action Congress, AAC; Ibrahim Ali Amin of African Democratic Congress, ADC; and Muhammad Abdullahi of Action Democratic Party, ADP.
Others are Yusuf Abba Kabir of All Progressives Congress, APC; Tijjani Sukairaju Tijjani of All Progressives Grand Alliance, APGA; Muhammad Bashir Galadanchi of Allied Peoples Movement, APM; Tukur Aliyu Malam of Action Peoples Party, APP; and Ahmad Furera of Boot Party, BP.
The rest are Bari Mustapha Bello of Democratic Leadership Alliance, DLA; Santuraki Hamisu of Labour Party, LP; Abdullahi Mustapha of National Democratic Party, NDP; Abacha Muhammed Sani of Peoples Democratic Party, PDP; Koguna Nasiru Hassan of People’s Redemption Party, PRP; Hussaini Bello Ado of Social Democratic Party, SDP; and Nuhu Isa of Zenith Labour Party, ZLP.
