Issues Around Calls For Ayu’s Resignation Have Been Addressed- Atiku’s Campaign Spokesman
Fresh demands by members of the Peoples Democratic Party, including Governor Seyi Makinde of Oyo State for the resignation of the party’s national chairman, Dr. Iyorchia Ayu, has been addressed and is no longer a subject for discussion.
This was the view of the spokesperson for Atiku Abubakar Campaign Organisation, Charles Aniagwu, on Wednesday.
He said, “I am sure that the NEC of the party has resolved those issues particularly within the provisions of the law. And before now, a statement was issued where the presidential candidate also addressed a number of those issues.
“We have a law which cannot be thrown away and begin to do as if we are not a party governed by law.
“It must also be said that Makinde recognized him (Atiku) as the presidential candidate of the party and he said by the grace of God, the next President of Nigeria.
“For him to be the President of Nigeria, it shows that Makinde will work for him. That is the implication.
“Ayu’s going has been overtaken by events. It is something that has already been addressed” , he added.
