Kaduna Launches Mobile Digital Classroom to Equip Students With 21st-Century Skills

Kaduna State Governor, Uba Sani, has reaffirmed his administration’s commitment to expanding digital literacy and ensuring equal learning opportunities for every child, regardless of location.
Speaking at the “Class Is Open Everywhere” DigiTruck Digital Skills Training Programme on Wednesday, the governor, represented by Commissioner for Youth Development, Barrister Gloria Ibrahim, said access to technology and digital skills is no longer a luxury but a necessity.
He emphasised that students in Kaduna must not only be educated but also equipped with the tools required to thrive in a technology-driven world.
The programme deploys a fully equipped mobile digital classroom directly to secondary schools across the state, bringing learning to students rather than requiring students to seek out learning opportunities.
“It ensures that opportunity is not limited by location,” the governor said.
The DigiTruck is expected to visit between 20 and 30 schools across the state’s three senatorial zones, reaching over 1,000 students.
Participants will be introduced to basic computing, artificial intelligence fundamentals, digital creativity, and other essential 21st-century skills.
Governor Sani noted that these competencies would define employability, innovation, and leadership in the years ahead.
He described the initiative as a landmark intervention that would give hundreds of young people their first practical interaction with technology, an experience he said could shape their future career paths.
“Exposure like this will spark curiosity, build confidence, and inspire our students to see themselves not only as users of technology, but as creators and problem-solvers,” he added.
The governor encouraged students to participate actively, ask questions, and make the most of the opportunity, reminding them that the future they are preparing for is already here.
