Kaduna to Host 2026 Nigeria Public Relations Week

Kaduna State has officially been confirmed as the host of the 2026 Nigeria Public Relations Week, following the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding with the Nigerian Institute of Public Relations.

The agreement, signed on Thursday, finalizes the state’s selection after a competitive assessment process by the NIPR Governing Council.

Governor Uba Sani described the hosting rights as both an honour and a responsibility, pledging to deliver a high-impact event. The theme, “Food Security: From Policy Papers to Public Plates – The Public Relations Imperatives,” aligns with state and national priorities.

Sani stated that public relations is crucial in connecting government food security policies to public understanding and daily realities.

The week-long event will feature the NIPR Annual General Meeting, an executive roundtable, media engagements, fellowship inductions, and capacity-building sessions. Attendees will also tour key agricultural and industrial projects across Kaduna.

More than 2,000 professionals, policymakers, and partners are expected to attend.

The NIPR cited Kaduna’s progress in crisis management, peace-building, and economic reforms as key reasons for its selection.

Governor Sani reaffirmed the state’s readiness, highlighting that agriculture receives 11% of the proposed 2026 state budget and pointing to major investments like the Special Agro-Processing Zone and a $200m poultry project.
