Katsina Bolsters Highway Safety with New Fleet of Ambulances
Katsina State has taken a major step toward improving emergency medical response with the delivery of 15 fully equipped conventional ambulances. The vehicles, procured by the state government, were officially received on Monday.
Chief of Staff to Governor Dikko Radda, Abdulkadir Mamma-Nasir, oversaw the offloading of the ambulances in Katsina. He stated that the initiative fulfills the governor’s pledge to enhance road infrastructure and safety, noting that expanded and repaired road networks have increased the necessity for robust emergency measures to reduce accident fatalities.
The new ambulances will be strategically stationed along major highways to provide rapid medical aid to accident victims. Mamma-Nasir emphasized that providing quality road infrastructure and emergency services is central to the administration’s goal of improving residents’ quality of life.
To ensure the sustainability of the fleet, the governor has approved the formation of a dedicated management committee.
This committee will include representatives from road maintenance agencies, accident prevention units, road safety authorities, the State Ministry of Health, and local government councils, who will oversee the maintenance and operation of the ambulance network.
