Kwara Senator Saliu Mustapha Resigns From APC

Senator representing Kwara Central Senatorial District, Saliu Mustapha, has resigned his membership of the All Progressives Congress, APC, in Kwara State.
Mustapha, who announced his resignation in a statement, said the decision followed weeks of consultations with political stakeholders, supporters, constituents and other well-meaning Kwarans.
He said his decision was informed by recent developments within the party, stressing that politics must remain anchored on the people, principles and purpose.
The Senator said where a political platform no longer aligns with those convictions and the aspirations of the people he represents, it becomes necessary to chart a new course.
While expressing gratitude to President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and the APC leadership for the relationships and experiences he had gained, Mustapha assured his constituents that his political platform may change, but his principles, purpose and commitment to the people remain unchanged.
The Senator, who is also the Turaki of Ilorin Emirate, said he would remain steadfast in his service to the people of Kwara Central, Kwara State and Nigeria.
