Kwara State University Confirms Death of Final-Year Student in Auto Crash

The management of Kwara State University, Malete, has confirmed the death of a 400-level student, Idris Agboluaje, who was involved in a fatal auto accident on Wednesday in Malete.

In a statement issued on Thursday, the university’s Registrar, Dr. Kikelomo Sallee, said Agboluaje, a final-year student, was on his way to campus to write an examination when the crash occurred.

“The management, on behalf of the university community, commiserates with the family and loved ones of the student,” Sallee stated. She described the incident as deeply painful and extended prayers to his family, friends, and the entire KWASU community.

Initial reports suggest that the Business Education student had been initially barred from entering the exam hall for not presenting his student identity card. It was reported that in an attempt to retrieve his ID and return in time for the examination, he was traveling at high speed when the accident happened.

The Association of Business Educators of Nigeria, KWASU Chapter, also expressed grief over the loss, describing Agboluaje’s passing as painful for the department.

“Our hearts go out to his parents, family members, friends and classmates during this difficult time,” the association said in a statement.
