Kwara Tops National Livestock Project Performance Ranking

Kwara State Governor, AbdulRahman-AbdulRazaq

Kwara State has been ranked first in the final performance assessment of the World Bank-supported Livestock Productivity and Resilience Support Project (L-PRES).

The ranking, based on an independent evaluation by the National Coordination Office and the World Bank, assessed 20 participating states on indicators including financial management, reporting efficiency, and delivery of project results.

In a statement, the State Ministry of Livestock Development credited the achievement to the supportive policies of Governor AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq and the consistent provision of counterpart funding, which created an enabling environment for the project.

Commissioner for Livestock Development, Oloruntoyosi Thomas, said the recognition validates the state’s commitment to transparency and impactful reforms in the livestock sector.

The L-PRES project aims to improve productivity and resilience in livestock farming. In Kwara, it has supported pasture development, animal health services, and opportunities for farmers and entrepreneurs across the value chain.

The state government expressed gratitude to the Federal Government, World Bank, and other partners, reaffirming its commitment to sustaining the project’s standards and benefits.
