Lagos 2027: APM Clears Adeoye for Governor, 67 Others After Screening

The Allied Peoples Movement (APM) in Lagos State has completed the screening of aspirants seeking its tickets for various elective positions ahead of the 2027 general elections.

The party’s screening committee cleared a total of 68 aspirants, including its sole governorship consensus candidate, Prince Laja Adeoye.

Speaking after the exercise, the committee chairman, Abiodun Abari, disclosed that three senatorial aspirants, 24 House of Representatives hopefuls, and 40 candidates for the Lagos State House of Assembly seats were successfully screened and cleared.

Abari explained that the party arrived at a consensus for all positions, which made the screening process seamless. He noted that while achieving consensus was initially challenging, unity among party leaders and members helped resolve differences, with some aspirants sacrificing their personal ambitions for the collective good.

The committee chairman further stated that the quality assurance process ensured only the best candidates were presented to the public. He added that the ongoing coalition between the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) and the APM has strengthened the opposition in Lagos, positioning the APM as the main alternative party for the 2027 election.

Following his clearance, Adeoye said he had met all requirements stipulated by the Electoral Act and the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC). He confirmed presenting all necessary credentials and submitting his governorship nomination form, describing the development as a major step in the journey to reset Lagos.
