The Lagos State Government on Tuesday honoured 506 officers of the Unified Local Government Service for 30 years of meritorious service.
The Head of Service, Mr. Bode Agoro, and the Deputy Governor, Dr. Kadri Obafemi Hamzat, presented the awards at the 2026 Long Service Merit Award Ceremony held at the Adeyemi Bero Auditorium, Alausa, Ikeja.
The event was organised by the Office of Local Government Establishments and Training to recognise officers who have served in Local Governments and Local Council Development Areas across the state.
Agoro said 506 officers were recognised, comprising 492 senior officers and 14 junior officers. He commended the Office for sustaining the initiative since its resuscitation in September 2025, describing the award as evidence of the state government’s commitment to rewarding dedication, loyalty and selfless service.
He congratulated the recipients and urged them to continue upholding professionalism, commitment and responsibility, while serving as role models to younger officers.
The Head of Service also encouraged public servants to embrace continuous learning and upskilling to meet evolving public policies and technological advancements.
He further urged them to prioritise their health and take advantage of the state’s Ilera Eko health insurance scheme.
