Lawyer Confirms Arrest of Social Media Personality DJ Chicken Over Remarks Against President’s Son

Ademola Abiodun, the controversial TikTok personality and disc jockey widely known as DJ Chicken, has reportedly been taken into custody by security forces in Ikeja.
Rotimi Stephen, the legal counsel representing the entertainer, confirmed the arrest in a social media broadcast on Thursday. While the formal charges have not been disclosed, Stephen alleged that the detention is directly linked to a recent viral video in which the entertainer made inflammatory remarks concerning Seyi Tinubu, the son of President Bola Tinubu.
In the controversial footage, which circulated widely across social media platforms, the entertainer made threatening comments regarding the President’s son in the context of the upcoming elections.
Stephen stated that his client was apprehended in Ikeja and is currently being held at the Ikeja Police Headquarters. The lawyer further suggested that the Department of State Services (DSS) may be involved in the case due to the sensitive nature of the remarks.
“DJ Chicken is now with the authorities,” Stephen noted in his appeal. “He was arrested in connection with the statement he made some days ago about the son of the President.”
The lawyer characterized his client as a vulnerable individual who requires leniency, urging supporters and influential figures close to the Presidency to intervene on his behalf. Stephen emphasized that he has been mentoring the entertainer as a personal project, framing his involvement as a community service effort.
“People who like Chicken and people close to the Presidency, please forgive him. He is not entirely stable; we are just managing him,” the lawyer pleaded.
As of Thursday evening, neither the Nigeria Police Force nor the Department of State Services had issued an official statement confirming the arrest or providing further details regarding the ongoing investigation.
