Lewandowski Announces Barcelona Exit, Says ‘Mission Complete’

Barcelona striker Robert Lewandowski has announced that he will leave the club this summer at the end of his contract.
The 37-year-old Polish forward made the announcement on Saturday, stating that after four years at the club, it is time to move on. He described his mission at Barcelona as complete, having helped the team win three La Liga titles and the Copa del Rey in 2025.
Lewandowski joined Barcelona from Bayern Munich in 2022 and scored 119 goals in 191 appearances across all competitions. He reflected that he arrived when the club was at a low point financially and competitively, and leaves with Barcelona back where it belongs.
He will play his final match at the Camp Nou on Sunday against Real Betis. Barcelona coach Hansi Flick confirmed that Lewandowski will start the game.
Flick, who also coached Lewandowski at Bayern Munich, described him as a perfect role model for young players and a fantastic human being and world-class player. He added that Lewandowski gave his best every day to remain at the highest level.
Barcelona paid tribute to the striker on social media, saying he arrived as a star and leaves as a legend.
Lewandowski did not confirm his next destination, but has been linked with clubs in Saudi Arabia and the United States.
