Makinde Appoints Ehilebo As Media Adviser For 2027 Presidential Bid

The presidential candidate of the Allied Peoples Movement (APM) and Oyo State Governor, Seyi Makinde, has appointed Barrister Anthony Ehilebo as his Special Adviser on Media and Digital Communication ahead of the 2027 presidential election.

The appointment was announced in a statement signed by the governor’s Special Adviser on Media, Dr Sulaimon Olanrewaju, on Thursday, August 27, 2026, with the appointment taking immediate effect.

Makinde said Ehilebo’s expertise as a communication strategist and lawyer would strengthen the APM’s campaign messaging as the party seeks to present its agenda for Nigeria ahead of the 2027 election.

He described the appointment as a strategic addition to the campaign team and said further appointments would be announced in due course.

Makinde also called on Nigerians to support the APM, describing the 2027 election as an opportunity to change the direction of the country after what he described as the failed leadership of the All Progressives Congress (APC).

“With unity, courage, and determination, we will reclaim Nigeria’s destiny and deliver the future our people deserve,” Makinde said.

Ehilebo’s appointment is expected to place him at the centre of the APM’s media strategy, digital communication and public messaging as the party intensifies preparations for the 2027 presidential contest.
