NAFDAC Warns Public Over Fake Recruitment Circular

The National Agency for Food and Drug Administration and Control has disowned a fraudulent press release circulating on social media, which falsely announced a recruitment exercise by the agency.
In a statement issued on its official X handle on Tuesday, NAFDAC clarified that the announcement is entirely fake and did not originate from the agency.
“While NAFDAC periodically conducts recruitment exercises to engage qualified Nigerians, no such announcement has been made at this time,” the agency stated.
The regulatory body cautioned the public against engaging with the fraudulent information, which it said is designed to mislead and extort unsuspecting applicants.
“For the avoidance of doubt, NAFDAC has not issued any press release or notice announcing a new recruitment exercise. All authentic information from the Agency is communicated exclusively through the official NAFDAC website and recognised, verified communication channels,” the statement added.
NAFDAC urged Nigerians to remain vigilant, disregard the fake notice, and always verify information through its official platforms.
This alert forms part of a wider trend of fake government recruitment scams circulating in early 2026. Similar warnings have recently been issued by other agencies including the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission and the Nigerian Midstream and Downstream Petroleum Regulatory Authority.
