NDC warns public against fake primary results, says election holds May 29

The Nigeria Democratic Congress has distanced itself from unofficial primary election results circulating in some quarters, describing them as false and deceptive.

In a statement issued on Thursday by its National Secretary, Ikenna Enekweizu, the party clarified that its primaries are scheduled to take place on May 29, 2026. He noted that it is therefore impossible and unreasonable for any results or winners to have emerged before the exercise is conducted.

The party’s clarification comes amid rumours that activist Aisha Yesufu lost her bid to secure the NDC ticket for the Federal Capital Territory senatorial seat.

Enekweizu urged the public to completely disregard the fake results and any unverified information. He reaffirmed the party’s commitment to a transparent and credible primary process and called on supporters and registered members to remain vigilant.
