NDLEA Reports Major Drug Busts in Ebonyi State

The National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) in Ebonyi State has announced the arrest of 157 suspects and the seizure of over 134 kilograms of illicit drugs in the final quarter of 2025.
State Commander Jude Ahamefule disclosed the figures to the News Agency of Nigeria in Abakaliki on Monday. The operations, conducted between October and December, led to the confiscation of substances including cannabis sativa, heroin, methamphetamine, and various prescription pills.
Of those arrested, 123 were male and 34 were female, with six individuals already convicted. The bulk of the seized drugs consisted of 106.978kg of cannabis sativa.
Commander Ahamefule added that the command provided rehabilitation for several individuals, with 12 clients currently receiving care. He reaffirmed the agency’s dedication to combating drug abuse and trafficking, urging those involved in the illegal trade to cease their activities.
