NELFUND Begins Payment of June and July Student Upkeep Allowances
The Nigerian Education Loan Fund (NELFUND) has commenced the disbursement of June and July monthly upkeep allowances to beneficiary students in tertiary institutions across the country.
The rollout follows weeks of concerns regarding delays in the monthly stipends provided under the Federal Government’s student loan scheme.
The National President of the National Association of Nigerian Students (NANS), Akinteye Babatunde, confirmed the payment rollout in an official statement on Friday. He reassured beneficiaries that disbursements are being processed in batches and that all outstanding backlogs will be cleared.
Following the announcement, numerous students took to social media platforms to confirm receipt of their financial credit alerts for both months.
The upkeep allowance is a core component of the NELFUND program, providing direct financial relief for living expenses to verified students alongside institutional tuition fee coverage.
