Nigerian Man Shot, Killed on Bus in Toronto; Suspect Charged
A 46-year-old Nigerian man, Osemwengie Irorere, was shot and killed inside a bus at the Yorkdale GO Bus Terminal in Toronto, Canada, on Sunday evening.
According to the Toronto Police Service, a 40-year-old suspect, Tyrel Gibson, has been arrested and charged with first-degree murder. Police allege Gibson boarded the bus with the victim, shot him, and fled on foot before being apprehended shortly after. A firearm was recovered.
The incident follows the fatal stabbing of another Nigerian, John Onetufo, in London on New Year’s Eve, for which a suspect has also been charged.
