Nigerian Passport Ranks 90th Globally as Visa-Free Access Reaches 44 Destinations

The Nigerian passport has been ranked 90th globally in the latest Henley Passport Index, giving its holders visa-free or simplified entry access to 44 destinations worldwide.

The global ranking, compiled using data from the International Air Transport Association, places Nigeria down one spot from 89th position in the previous edition, though its overall mobility score remains unchanged at 44.

The index evaluates 199 passports based on the number of destinations accessible without a prior visa. Depending on individual destination requirements, entry options for Nigerian travelers include visa-free access, visa-on-arrival, or electronic visas (e-visas).

The destinations offering hassle-free access to Nigerian passport holders across Africa, Asia, the Americas, and Oceania include:

Africa: Benin, Burkina Faso, Burundi (visa on arrival), Cameroon, Cape Verde, Chad, Comoro Islands (visa on arrival), Côte d’Ivoire, Djibouti, Ghana, Guinea, Guinea-Bissau, Kenya, Liberia, Madagascar (visa on arrival), Mali, Mauritius, Mozambique, Niger, Rwanda, Senegal, Seychelles, Sierra Leone, The Gambia, and Togo.

Americas & Caribbean: Barbados, Dominica, Haiti, Montserrat, and St. Kitts and Nevis.

Asia & Middle East: Cambodia (visa on arrival), Iran (visa on arrival), Lebanon, Maldives (visa on arrival), and Timor-Leste (visa on arrival).

Oceania: Cook Islands, Fiji, Kiribati, Micronesia, Niue (visa on arrival), Palau Islands (visa on arrival), Samoa (visa on arrival), Tuvalu, and Vanuatu.
