Ogun State Appoints New Permanent Secretaries and Education Heads

In a significant administrative move, the Ogun State Government has approved the appointment of nine new Permanent Secretaries, two Principals-General, and four Headteachers-General.
The announcement was made on Wednesday by the State Head of Service, Mr. Kehinde Onasanya. He stated that the appointments were made following a rigorous selection process and in accordance with constitutional provisions.
According to Onasanya, the new Permanent Secretaries were selected from directors who successfully completed the state’s Executive Leadership Development Pipeline Programme. The appointments were based on merit, professionalism, and extensive experience within the civil service.
The newly appointed Permanent Secretaries are:
· Abdul-Azeez Oludare Ajidele
· Mrs. Olufunmilayo Yetunde Soyoye-Baker
· Mrs. Adebimpe Foluso Obienu
· Dr. (Mrs.) Kafayat Modupe Lawal
· Ahmed Bayo Adetona
· Idowu Oladapo Onasanya
· Olalekan Peter Taiwo
· Akintomiwa Oluwagbeminiyi Osibodu
· Engr. Kehinde Olukayode Akintomide
For the education sector, Matthew Adeyinka Osilesi and Yakubu Olorunyomi Lamidi have been appointed as Principals-General for Remo and Ijebu Divisions, respectively.
The new Headteachers-General are Benjamin Olusegun Alonge (Ijebu), Mrs. Aminat Folake Busari (Remo), Olusegun Nathaniel Akapo (Yewa), and Mrs. Folake Omolara Onabanjo (Egba).
Onasanya explained that the selection process for the education roles involved thorough screening, including school inspections, assessment of academic records, and staff relations.
The Head of Service congratulated the appointees, urging them to exhibit dedication and professionalism in their new roles. He encouraged them to align their efforts with Governor Dapo Abiodun’s “Building Our Future Together” agenda.
A formal swearing-in ceremony by the Governor is scheduled to be held at a later date.
