Ogun State Marks 50th Anniversary, Celebrates Legacy and Future Outlook

Ogun State is commemorating the 50th anniversary of its creation, reflecting on its history as a nucleus of Nigerian leadership and scholarship while outlining a vision for future growth aimed at its youth.

In an article marking the milestone, Senior Special Assistant on Media, Femi Ogbonnikan, highlighted the state’s unique heritage as the birthplace of figures like the late Chief Obafemi Awolowo and Nobel Laureate Wole Soyinka. The celebration is framed as both a tribute to this legacy and a “call to action” for the next generation.
