Olubadan Postpones Chieftaincy Installations Following Death of Osi Balogun

The Olubadan Palace has announced the passing of the Osi-Balogun of Ibadanland, Oba Olubunmi Isioye-Dada. The traditional ruler died peacefully on Friday following a brief illness.
In an official statement released by the Chief Press Secretary to the Olubadan, the palace confirmed that the installation ceremonies for new Mogajis and Baales, which were initially scheduled for Monday, June 15, 2026, have been postponed. The event will now take place on Monday, June 22, 2026.
The Olubadan of Ibadanland, Oba (Dr.) Rasidi Adewolu Ladoja, along with members of the Olubadan-in-Council, extended their condolences to the immediate family, indigenes, and residents of Ibadanland. The monarch described the loss of the Osi-Balogun as a major blow to the ancient city.
Before his transition, Oba Olubunmi Isioye-Dada was a dedicated and valued member of the Olubadan-in-Council.
