Onanuga: Reforms Substantially Increased State Allocation Funds

The Special Adviser to the President on Information and Strategy, Bayo Onanuga, stated that the ongoing economic reforms implemented by the federal administration have significantly bolstered the financial resources available to state governments for localized infrastructure development. Onanuga made the remarks on Tuesday during an official reception in Umuahia, Abia State, welcoming a media delegation conducting an independent project assessment tour across the region.

According to federal representatives, the unified economic strategies are designed to foster greater cross-government synergy, granting states a larger fiscal capacity to execute critical developmental works. The inspection tour aims to provide objective public insight into both standalone state initiatives and multi-tiered infrastructure ventures funded in direct partnership with federal agencies.

Receiving the delegation on behalf of Governor Alex Otti, Deputy Governor Ikechukwu Emetu affirmed that the state welcomes open institutional scrutiny as a standard metric of transparent governance.

Over the past three years, the regional administration has prioritized rebuilding public trust through aggressive investments in security, educational overhauls, healthcare revitalization, and creating an enabling environment for private sector growth.

State officials emphasized that ongoing structural transformations within local communities serve as physical proof of successful national reform alignments.

Regional information executives closed the briefing by urging visiting media practitioners to maintain strict professional objectivity, noting that balanced reporting is essential to helping citizens accurately evaluate government performance during periods of economic adjustment.
