Ondo Deputy Governor Awards Full Scholarships to 100 Technical College Students

In a move to support technical education, Ondo State Deputy Governor Dr. Olayide Adelami has granted full scholarships to 100 newly admitted students of Government Technical College, Owo.
The scholarship, announced during the college’s 2025/2026 matriculation ceremony, will cover the complete three-year training programme for the beneficiaries, including daily feeding stipends.
Principal of the college, Mr. Tayo Ijabiken, who made the announcement, expressed profound gratitude for the intervention. He stated that the gesture provides significant financial relief to families and inspires the students, while also boosting Technical and Vocational Education and Training in the state.
The deputy governor, represented by former Attorney-General Kola Olawoye, explained that the initiative aligns with Governor Lucky Aiyedatiwa’s vision to revitalize technical education. Adelami advised the students to take their studies seriously, highlighting technical skills as a pathway to self-reliance and entrepreneurship.
This scholarship scheme adds to the state government’s broader educational investments. Last year, Governor Aiyedatiwa approved N350 million for scholarship and bursary payments to Ondo State students in higher institutions across various disciplines.
