Ondo Police Arrest 27-Year-Old Man Over Alleged Defilement of Minor

Officers of the Ondo State Police Command have taken a 27-year-old man, Solomon Onaola, into custody following allegations of defiling a 15-year-old domestic worker in the Omifon area of Odigbo Local Government Area.

The incident was confirmed in an official statement on Tuesday by the command’s Police Public Relations Officer, DSP Abayomi Jimoh.

According to police reports, the suspect was apprehended after the victim’s guardian lodged a complaint at the Odigbo Divisional Police Station regarding the minor’s repeated unexplained absences from home. When questioned by her employer, the teenager revealed that Onaola had allegedly taken her to his late mother’s residence on multiple occasions to engage in unlawful sexual intercourse.

Following the initial complaint, the case was transferred to the Gender-Based Offences Unit for further investigation, leading to the arrest of the suspect. Police confirmed that the victim has since been placed under appropriate care and support, adhering to standard procedures for cases involving sexual offenses against minors.

The Commissioner of Police in Ondo State, CP Felix Ohagwu, has directed a thorough investigation to ensure justice is served. The police command reaffirmed its commitment to protecting vulnerable individuals from abuse and urged guardians and the public to remain vigilant and report suspicious activities promptly.

The suspect remains in police custody and will be charged to court upon the conclusion of the investigation.
