According to a statement issued by Press Officer Bisi Lawani, the benchmark scores were determined based on candidates’ performance in the state’s admission assessment, which was graded over a cumulative total of 300 marks. The evaluation serves as a mandatory prerequisite designed to ensure a merit-based selection process for entry into public secondary institutions.
Presiding over the announcement, Commissioner for Education, Science and Technology Prof. Igbekele Ajibefun commended the seamless execution of the placement examination, highlighting that the swift release of results demonstrates the state’s commitment to a transparent and efficient admission system.
Concurrently, Permanent Secretary Dr. Akindele Ige emphasized that the structured criteria aim to uphold academic standards and reward hardworking students across the state.
Public secondary school principals have been instructed to commence admission processing for candidates who meet or exceed the set benchmarks, with Zonal and Area Education Offices coordinating implementation at the local government level. Parents and guardians have been advised to consult their respective primary schools or regional education offices for registration guidelines.
