The Ooni of Ife, Oba Adeyeye Ogunwusi, has contributed ₦100 million and a brand-new Hilux vehicle to boost the operations of the Iru Ekun Security Network, a community-based security initiative established by Yoruba Nation agitator, Sunday Adeyemo, popularly known as Sunday Igboho.

The monarch announced the donation during a courtesy visit by Igboho and key members of the security outfit to the palace in Ile-Ife. Praising the initiative, the Ooni emphasized that community security is a collective responsibility that requires the backing of all stakeholders to safeguard lives and foster regional development. He further urged traditional rulers, business leaders, and community stakeholders to rally behind the security network to ensure lasting peace across Yorubaland.

In his response, Igboho expressed deep gratitude to the monarch, describing him as a unifying figure and father to the Yoruba race worldwide. He explained that the visit was intended to brief the royal father on the group’s operations and seek his continued guidance. Additionally, Igboho revealed plans to host a regional security summit at the palace to strategize on practical solutions to security challenges facing the region.
