Oshoala’s hat-trick fires Al Hilal into Saudi Women’s Cup final

Asisat Oshoala delivered another dazzling performance on Thursday, scoring a hat-trick to power Al Hilal Women to a 5-1 victory over Al Qadsiah Women and secure a spot in the Saudi Women’s Cup final.

The six-time African Player of the Year struck twice in the first half and completed her treble after the break, helping her team seal a 7-2 aggregate win.

Oshoala has now recorded 23 goals and six assists across all competitions this season. The Nigerian forward has also found the net in four consecutive matches and contributed at least one goal in each of her last six games.

Carrying a 2-1 advantage from the first leg, Al Hilal took control early. Oshoala opened the scoring in the 36th minute with a right-footed strike from outside the box. Two minutes later, Jéssica Silva made it 2-0 after a swift counter-attack.

Ajara Nchout pulled one back for Al Qadsiah in the 42nd minute, but Oshoala quickly restored the two-goal cushion before halftime, finishing another fast break. She completed her hat-trick in the 73rd minute, calmly slotting home from the left side of the box.

Oshoala later won a penalty in the 89th minute, which Ghizlane Chebbak converted in stoppage time to round off the emphatic win.

Al Hilal will face either Al Ula Women or Al Nassr Women in the final as they continue their chase for silverware. The club finished as runners-up in the Saudi Women’s Premier Challenge Cup earlier this season, a campaign in which Oshoala also scored back-to-back hat-tricks.

Oshoala joined the Saudi club on a two-year deal in the summer of 2025 from National Women’s Soccer League side Bay FC.
