Osun Decides: No Intimidation Anywhere, Governor’s Wife Ngozi Adeleke Assures Voters

Ngozi Adeleke, wife of the Osun State Governor, has called on eligible voters across the state to turn out en masse for the ongoing governorship election, dismissing fears of harassment and assuring residents of a peaceful voting atmosphere.

Speaking shortly after casting her ballot on Saturday, the governor’s wife urged registered citizens still at home to head to their respective polling units to perform their civic duty.

“I’m saying it authoritatively to every Osun indigene that there’s peace; everything is going on peacefully,” she stated. “There’s no rancour, there’s no fight, and there’s no intimidation of any kind. Please, wherever you are, as long as you’re a voter, leave your house, go to your polling unit, and vote. That is your civic right.”

Her public reassurance comes amidst heightened tension and lingering security concerns that had dominated political discussions in the days leading up to the election.

Earlier in the day, Governor Ademola Adeleke cast his vote at Ward 02, Polling Unit 009, in Abogunde Compound, Ede North Local Government Area. Voting is currently underway across all 30 local government areas in the state under the watchful eye of security agencies deployed to ensure order.
