Osun Governor, APC Congratulate Oyebanji on Ekiti Re-Election Victory
Osun State Governor Ademola Adeleke and the Osun State chapter of the All Progressives Congress (APC) have congratulated Ekiti State Governor Biodun Oyebanji following his decisive victory in Saturday’s gubernatorial election. The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) declared Oyebanji the winner after he secured 319,224 votes, defeating his closest challenger, Wole Oluyede of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), who polled 40,543 votes.
In a congratulatory message issued on Sunday, Governor Adeleke described Oyebanji’s landslide victory as a clear endorsement of his first-term achievements, noting that the renewal of the mandate indicates the absolute confidence the people of Ekiti State have in his leadership. Adeleke expressed optimism that the second term would allow the Ekiti governor to build upon the impactful services and regional progress established during his first four years in office.
Simultaneously, the Osun State chapter of the APC stated that the election outcome reinforces the popularity of the progressive platform within the South-West region. In a statement by its leadership, the party emphasized that the electorate’s choice reflects a strong preference for continuity and dependable governance.
The victory has also injected momentum into the political landscape of neighboring Osun State. APC chieftain Olatunbosun Oyintiloye remarked that the party’s success in Ekiti serves as a blueprint for unity and grassroots engagement.
Oyintiloye expressed strong confidence that the APC would replicate this success in the upcoming August 15, 2026, Osun governorship election. He commended national and regional party leaders, including the Minister of Marine and Blue Economy, Adegboyega Oyetola, for keeping the party structure energized and prepared for the upcoming state elections.
