Over 30 Killed in Fatal Trailer Accident in Kano State

A tragic road accident in Kano State claimed the lives of more than 30 persons early Sunday morning.
The incident occurred at Kwanar Barde in Gezawa Local Government Area, involving a trailer travelling towards Gujungu in Jigawa State. Preliminary reports indicate the crash was caused by reckless driving, leaving many others with serious injuries.
Kano State Governor, Abba Yusuf, has described the event as heartbreaking and a profound loss. In a statement issued by his spokesperson, Sunusi Dawakin-Tofa, the governor prayed for the repose of the deceased and for strength for their grieving families. He also wished a speedy recovery to the injured.
Governor Yusuf has directed the State Ministry of Health to provide free and adequate medical care to all victims. He further instructed the Office of the Special Adviser on Humanitarian Affairs to assess the situation and offer support to the affected families.
The governor issued a stern warning to motorists, especially drivers of heavy-duty vehicles, to avoid reckless driving and adhere to traffic regulations to prevent future tragedies.
Medical and humanitarian teams have been mobilised to assist the injured and support the victims’ families.
