Oyo Police Confirm Abduction of Four Along Igbeti–Kishi Road Ibadan

The Oyo State Police Command has confirmed the abduction of four persons along the Igbeti–Kishi Road in Irepo Local Government Area of the state.

In a statement issued on Thursday in Ibadan, the state Police Public Relations Officer, Olayinka Ayanlade, disclosed that security operatives have launched a coordinated search and rescue operation to secure the release of the victims.

Upon receiving the report, the Commissioner of Police directed Divisional Police Officers in Kishi and Igbeti, supported by tactical teams, to deploy all necessary operational assets towards ensuring the safe rescue of the victims and the arrest of the perpetrators.

Ayanlade stated that security forces are currently combing surrounding areas and intensifying intelligence gathering to track down the suspects.

The command reassured residents of its commitment to their safety and urged the public to remain calm while providing any useful information that could assist ongoing operations.

This incident follows recent successes by the command in preventing criminal activities in the state. The police recently foiled a bandit attack at Elebe Village, Aleniboro, in Atisbo Local Government Area, where two suspected gang members were neutralised. That operation was prompted by a tip-off from a resident about armed men hiding in a farm settlement.

Similarly, the command rescued a kidnap victim, Haruna Lawal, at Olorunda Village in Ojongbodu, Oyo West Local Government Area. The victim sustained a head injury during the incident.
