Oyo SDP Governorship Aspirant, Oladele ,Running Mate Join AAC

Social Democratic Party (SDP) governorship aspirant in Oyo State, Chief Saheed Oladele and his running mate, Mrs Damola Jaiye, have defected to the African Action Congress (AAC).

It would be recalled that Oladele resigned from SDP on Sept. 16.

Oladele’s defection to AAC was disclosed in a statement issued by his Media Office and made available to newsmen on Thursday in Ibadan.

He said that his decision to join AAC was borne out of his determination to rescue the people of Oyo State from modern slavery, abject poverty, educational retrogression, and poor development at the local government level.

The governorship aspirant also alleged that the Oyo State was at a precipe as the future of the populace was at the verge of being mortgaged.

Oladele said that his political vision aligned with the people-centred principles championed by Omoyele Sowore, the AAC Presidential candidate for the 2027 general election.

According to him, his attraction to AAC also stemmed from the party’s concern for the welfare of Nigerians, its “Take It Back mantra” and its advocacy for good governance.Download Interactive Maps

He described AAC as a party with no factions and court cases, unlike virtually every other political party, thereby making the party an ideal platform for serious candidates who truly want to contest and win elections.

Oladele called on the people of Oyo State to remain confident in the political direction he and his team have chosen, saying the time has come for greater youth participation and leadership in the state.

He urged supporters and residents of Oyo State to join AAC enmasse.

“The party is led and peopled by active and vibrant youths that have been fighting for the rights of Nigerians and keeping the country’s leaders on their toes,” Oladele said.(NAN)
