Peter Obi Shooting: APC Slams ADC, Denies Involvement

The All Progressives Congress (APC) has denied any involvement in the reported shooting incident involving members of the African Democratic Congress (ADC) in Edo State.

In a statement signed by its National Publicity Secretary, Felix Morka, the APC described the ADC as “its own nemesis,” insisting that the opposition party was responsible for its internal troubles.

The reaction followed allegations by the ADC that the APC was behind the shooting incident linked to its members, including 2023 Labour Party presidential candidate, Peter Obi.

The APC dismissed the claim as “utterly delusional,” accusing the ADC of making baseless accusations without waiting for the outcome of investigations by security agencies.

According to the ruling party, the ADC acted as “accuser, investigator, prosecutor and judge” in its own case, adding that such conduct showed a lack of regard for due process.

While condemning violence in the political space, the APC called on law enforcement authorities to conduct an expeditious investigation and bring the perpetrators to justice.

It maintained that it had no role in the incident and remained focused on governance under President Bola Tinubu.

The party further expressed appreciation to Nigerians for what it described as growing electoral support in recent polls across the Federal Capital Territory, Rivers and Kano states.
