Police Arrest Ten Suspects in Delta State Anti-Kidnapping Raid

Delta State Police have apprehended ten individuals linked to a series of kidnappings and armed robberies across multiple communities. The arrests occurred during an early morning operation on Tuesday along the Jeddo/Ughoton–Warri axis.

Acting on gathered intelligence, officers from the Special Anti-Kidnapping and Cybercrime Squad (SAKCCS) targeted a known criminal hideout. The operation was a response to reported crimes in areas including Obinoba, Obiaruku, Abraka, and Orerokpe.

According to Police Public Relations Officer SP Bright Edafe, operatives trailed a suspect to the hideout, allegedly operated by Oke Jerry Ekokodjie and an associate known as Ibori. While the principal suspects and three others were captured, some gang members managed to flee via nearby creeks.

A variety of items were recovered from the scene. These include two locally fabricated pistols with ammunition, a black Mercedes-Benz GLK, a battle axe, a commercial quantity of illicit drugs, and a Point-of-Sale (POS) machine.

Commissioner of Police Aina Adesola commended the operatives for their work, stating the arrests reflect the command’s dedication to dismantling criminal networks. “Our operatives acted with professionalism and precision, leveraging actionable intelligence to achieve this success,” CP Adesola said. She reaffirmed the commitment to “proactive and intelligence-led policing” across the state.
